boots.

These days, I often go to work in these dr marten's. They are comfortable and durable.
My preferred pair of booty shoes. ❤ dr marten's!

a good meal.

Yesterday's dinner:

I had spaghetti vongole
and beef salami with tomato + basil pizza...
... and I am feeling happy today!

all about baking.

I'm pretty new at baking and I find it to be a challenging exercise, in a good way.
So these past weeks, I've baked some ...
Beef pies with stout + oven-baked sweet potatoes fries to go along...... and, I tried Popcornstories - Pecan Puffs for the second time! This time, I've replaced pecan with crushed almonds instead. A's version definitely seems  decent, i believe she's a full-time baker. How cool is that? Then, I had a go in baking my own cookies: Shortbread Star with Lemon Zest. It tasted pretty good, but I wasn't impress with the shape of  the stars, they turned distorted around the edge. Sloppy stars! Maybe too much sugar or lemon juice... And, the colour of the cookies were not evenly brown, could be the temperature? 180 deg celsius too low? Baking is like attending Science + Maths lessons altogether. old school.

I had to scout for a location for one of my project in hand, so made a trip down to this abandoned school.  I am guessing this school was build during the seventies.

My first stop was its school hall. The once glossy wooden floorings are now carpeted with thick dust and fallen leaves.
A secret tunnel at the backstage?
Science laboratory classroom.

... more chalkboards...
A spacious classroom with plenty of cool breeze and daylight spilling in. Love the ceiling and beams...
Comparing to the classrooms we have now in schools, this is such a raw deal.
It was a strange but nice feeling looking at what were scribbled on these boards. Angst youths around the block?

White Coffee Corner.

Today in Margaret Drive, I was out and about for work.
So i dropped by my Aunt's little coffee place, it's called White Coffee Corner...
... traditional style bread and soft buns are served
...  together with her yummy homemade kaya jam with a hint of cinnamon.
Laminated, magazine write-up on her tiny coffee place. Bet it serves as an encouragement for her everyday when she opens her shop's shutter...
This is one familiar + hearty breakfast for all locals...
... I helped to serve up White Coffee Corner's Lattes to some of her regulars.

i ❤ k.ki + the little drom store.

We found ourselves in k.ki  + the little drom store and we were lost.
In a nice way.

... and has instantly become my favourite! The cakes we had were tasty and light, especially their cheese tart. (^.^)

❤ this cheese tart. simple yet tasty. i dream to bake as good as  k.ki does.

Jasmine trying on a plaid blouse I've picked out from the rack for her. Glad she made this purchase, cos it looks lovely on her.

I have a love + hate thing about type writers. cool to look at, but hard to master.

One of my favourite things in the shop: plastic animal figurines and their "shaky" heads.

I'm not crazy over erasers nor flags. But these erasers remind me of my primary school days.

... and more fond memories: retro glasses.

So, thank you  k.ki and  the little drom store. It made my afternoon lost in a la la land.
